ST. MARY CATHOLIC SCHOOL NEWS

April 2008

Dear Parent,

Easter and Easter break came very early this year, and although visions of Chocolate bunnies and jelly beans may still be dance in their heads, students are back at school. We have two sold months of learning ahead, and only break on the distant horizon is Memorial Weekend.

The third quarter of the school year ends this Friday, April 4th. Report Cards will be distributed Tuesday, April 8th. Please feel free to contact teachers regarding any questions or concerns you may have. The fourth and final quarter of the school year begins Monday, April 7th. April and May are solid months for learning. Unfortunately as the weather turns warmer students’ focus and interest in learning tends to wane. Please continue holding your child to high academic standards.

The season of Sacraments is also beginning. In April, Eighth graders will be participating in a retreat and also receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Second graders will also participating in their retreat and will be receiving their First Holy Communion. Your assistance may be needed either with donations of cookies or serving, set up, or take down. Please help wherever and whenever you can. These are memorable occasions for our children and you are providing them with an example of serving one another.

St. Mary students are joining with our Catholic students in celebrating Pope Benedict’s 81st birthday through works of service. Further information regarding the activity/event can be found in the weekly envelop for Wednesday, April 9th.

As the beauty of the earth “springs” forth in the flowers and the trees, may we as followers of the risen Christ, renewed in our faith, “spring” forward to serve others as he did.

Sincerely
Mary Ann Lapinski
Principal
