Weekly Time Line

Week of March 8-12 2010

6th grade Social Studies, we will finish up our chapter on Mexico this week by looking at the economy and life in Mexico today. Our test will be on Thursday. Friday students will begin work on a political map of Central America.
In religion we continue our overview of the seven sacraments and the liturgical year. The students have already shared an immense knowledge base on these subjects. Our test for this chapter will be on Wednesday.

7th grade Geography will begin an overview unit of the differences between the regions of South Asia and Southeast Asia. Students will complete a physical map of these regions and be quizzed on this Wednesday. Friday students will spend time in the technology lab working on multimedia presentations.
Our religion focus this week will be on social justice, the last topic for chapter 11. Our test will be Wednesday. Thursday we will start looking at forgiveness and the sacrament of reconciliation.

8th grade History will finish up our look at the underground railroad. Partners will create a board game to integrate important facts, people and events of the underground railroad. We will have a chapter 14 test on Wednesday. The end of the week we begin our in depth study of the Civil War.
In religion this week, Father Marc will once again be joining us for catechesis. If you have not submitted the Triduum volunteer sheet that we sent home last Tuesday, please send that in with your child as soon as possible. Tuesday we will be partnering with the second graders to help them create Lenten Prayer journals. The 8th graders will lead the younger students through some prompts about their thoughts and feeling of God in their lives. We will have a chapter 8 test on Thursday or Friday.
